Industry newsletter :RETHING WIRELESS has a nice short description of the current industry battlefronts shaping the three main “open” mobile platforms competing today:
- Google’s Android, supported by the Open Handset Alliance
- Nokia’s open source Symbian
- LiMo (Linux Mobile) Foundation
So, as vozmob moves to developing/testing handset applications on Nokias N3600 using AT&T, we’ll be exploring path #2. It would be interesting to test Android and LiMo phones as well. Also OpenMoko, which is following yet another path. Not a front-burner issue, but something to keep in mind.
